Final Cut for Real will be well represented at IDFA this year - both at the forum and at the cinemas. What follows is a full comprehensive list of times and locations for pitches and screenings of Final Cut for Real productions and co-productions.

PITCHES

This year Final Cut for Real will be pitching three projects.

Producer Monica Hellström will pitch Forget Me Not with director Sun-Hee Engelstoft at the Rough Cut Pitch. Most recently winning Best Nordic Pitch at Doc Port Incheon in South Korea, the film follows three pregnant and unmarried women and their process towards the difficult and painful decision of weather to keep their baby or to give it away for adoption.

Nov 18, 12.15-12.55 - @Tuschinski 4, Reguliersbreestraat 26-34

Producer Anne Köhncke will pitch School Shooters (working title) with directors Frida and Lasse Barkfors. Following their previous documentaries Pervert Park and Death of a Child this will be the Barkfors’ third film in their trilogy on social stigma.

Round table pitch - Nov 19, 17:15 - @Zuilen Zaal.

Finally, producer Signe Byrge Sørensen will pitch Democrats II (working title) with director Camilla Nielsson. Following up on her Democrats from 2014, Nielsson’s new film revisits the struggle for democracy in Zimbabwe.

SCREENINGS

Two of Final Cut for Real’s critically acclaimed co-productions will be screened at the festival.

What Walaa Wants directed by Christy Garland, will be shown six times during the festival - three of which will subsequently be followed by a Q&A with the director. Producers are Anne Köhncke for Final Cut for Real, Matt Code and Christy Garland for Murmur Media. The film is a co-production with National Film Board of Canada, Justine Pimlott.

Angels Are Made of Light directed by James Longley will have it’s European premiere at the festival, and will have six screenings in total. The film is produced by Daylight Factory and coproduced by Joslyn Barnes for Louverture Films, Torstein Grude for Piraya Films and Signe Byrge Sørensen for Final Cut for Real.
