What Walaa Wants will have its Middle Eastern premiere at The Ajyal Film Festival in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday 28th of November. Protagonist Walaa Khaled Fawzy Tanji, director Christy Garland and production coordinator Ekram Zubaydi will attend the screenings.

‘Ajyal’ is Arabic for ‘generations’, and the festival brings people of all ages together through screenings and events that inspire creative interaction and stimulate cinematic dialogue. The festival is arranged by the Doha Film Institute, who also supported the production of What Walaa Wants.

The film had its world premiere at Berlinale 2018, and has since been touring the world, most recently at IDFA Best of Fests.
