'WHAT WALAA WANTS' HAS ITS WORLD PREMIERE AT THE BERLINALE / by Maria Kristensen

After years in the making What Walla Wants, directed by Christy Garland had its world premiere at the Berlinale on Saturday Februar 17. And we are so happy that Walaa was able to come to the sold out premiere at the Zoo Palast. 

At the Berlinale What Walaa Wants is screening in the Generation 14plus programme, and is therefore nominated for the two Generation 14plus jury prizes - on of them is awarded by a youth jury.

The film is also nominated for the Amnesty International Film Prize, as well as the Glashütte Original - Documentary Award. The Glashütte Award is given for the best documentary film at the Berlinale, and only eighteen out of over a hundred films in the Berlinale programme are nominated.

What Walaa Wants is produced by Anne Köhncke for Final Cut for Real and Matt Code and Christy Garland for Murmur Film. The film is co-produced with the National Film Board of Canada, producer Justine Pimlott.
