We are happy to announce that the film A Comedian in a Syrian Tragedy by Rami Farah has been selected for Qumra 2021. Qumra is supported by Doha Film Institut, and offers a myriad of online experiences; masterclasses, talks, and screenings. Its platform exists as a source of inspiration and a forum between direction, screenwriting, cinematography, and sound - “A Space for new voices in cinema”.

The film is described as: “While they try to find their footing on a new continent, the need to remain faithful to the dream of a free and democratic Syria becomes a matter of integrity—an existential quest. 'A Comedian in a Syrian Tragedy' is an intimate observation of the psychological violence and the exiled existence experienced by the director and his favorite actor.”

A Comedian in a Syrian Tragedy was directed by Rami Farah, and produced by Lyana Sales, On Screen off Record Productions, France and by co-produced by Signe Byrge Sørensen, Final Cut for Real, Cindy Le Templier, Shashat Multimedia, Jordan & Anita Rehoff Larsen, Sant og Usant, Norway.
