Madsen's 3D documentary 'Halden Prison' to premiere at the Berlinale / by Maria Kristensen

Michael Madsen's new 3D documentary Halden Prison will have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival 2014. 

The film is part of the 3D documentary project Cathedrals of Culture, which has been selected for the prestigious programme Berlinale Special. 

The series presents visions of "a building's soul" and Madsen has chosen to portray the soul of the high-security Halden prison in Norway.

Cathedrals of Culture consists of six films by famed directors: German Wim Wenders (Berlin Philharmonic in Berlin), Austrian Michael Glawogger (National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg), American Robert Redford (Salk Institute for Biological Studies in California), Norwegian Margreth Olin (Oslo Opera House) and Brazilian Karim Ainouz (Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris).

Producers Anne Köhnke and Signe Byrge Sørensen have produced producing Michael Madsen's film and are co-producing the remaining five films, together with the main production company Neue Road Movies from Germany.
