On December 13 the Dubai Film Festival handed out the awards for the 14th instalment of the festival and Mahdi Fleifel's short fiction film A Drowning Man took home the Muhr Award for Best Short.
This is the second win for A Drowning Man at an Oscar® qualifying film festival where the win allows A Drowning Man to join the longlist for the 91st Academy Awards in the Live Action Short Film category in 2019.
