We're so happy to announce that Camilla Nielsson's new feature documentary President will have its world premiere in January, as part of the World Documentary Competition at Sundance Film Festival 2021. The film has been selected along with 9 other documentaries from around the world. This year Sundance will be different from other years, therefore President will screen online during the festival, accessible for accredited guests of the festival, from 28 January through 3 February.
President follows the presidential election in 2018 in Zimbabwe, where the incumbent president Emmerson Mnangagwa (and leader of the coup to oust previous long-time president Robert Mugabe) is challenged by the young democratic opposition leader Nelson Chamisa, in an election process marred by voter intimidation, violence and election fraud.
