'WHAT WALAA WANTS' AND 'ANGELS ARE MADE OF LIGHT' TO IDFA BEST OF FESTS / by Maria Kristensen

We are very happy to announce that What Walaa Wants by Christy Garland and Angels Are Made of Light by James Longley are selected for IDFA's Best of Fests programme. 

What Walaa Wants premiered at the Berlinale 2018 and has since the toured festivals around the world. The film follows Walaa, a young woman on the West Bank who dreams of independence. It follows her over the course of six years, from age 15 to 21.

Angels Are Made of Light premiered at Telluride, followed by TIFF. It is also filmed over a period of several years, following the daily struggles and inner lives of students and teachers at a school in Kabul, Afghanistan during the closing years of America’s longest war.
