We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other has advanced from the longlist and is now officially nominated for a Grierson Award 2025 in the Best Arts and Music category! The Griersons are among the most prestigious recognitions in documentary filmmaking, celebrating excellence in craft and storytelling – and we are so honoured for the film to be included among the nominees.
In Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other life, death and making meaning are at the heart of a beautiful and often very witty film about Maggie Barrett and Joel Meyerowitz, an aging artist couple who face the inevitability of impermanence and seek a deep peace in their relationship while they still can. With unique access to the couple's lives, directors Jacob Perlmutter and Manon Ouimet have created a profoundly moving film about living, creating and loving.
We couldn’t be more excited about this nomination and are eagerly looking ahead to the awards ceremony on 18 November at the Roundhouse in London.
