Documentary feature On Screen Off Record by Final Cut for Real producer Signe Byrge Sørensen, director Rami Farah and co-director by Lyana Saleh has been awarded the 2014 MPA APSA Academy Film Fund development grant at a ceremony held in Brisbane, Australia, on December 11th.

The 25,000 USD grant is awarded by the Motion Picture Association and the Asia Pacific Screen Award to four projects that best reflect their cultural origins, demonstrate cinematic excellence and are deemed Asia Pacific in origin.

On Screen Off Record is a Syrian/Danish/French production that aims to make audiences in the Arabic world and in the West reflect on the Syrian conflict in a media-conscious manner.

The MPA APSA selection panel describes Off Screen Off Record as "a provocative documentary about the citizen journalist movement in Syria - citizens who have been recording events in the Syrian crisis and posting stories on the Internet. This film will tell the story of this movement and provide a context for their stories and images".
