CINEMATOGRAPHER LARS SKREE TAKES TOP PRIZE AT CAMERAIMAGE FOR 'THE LOOK OF SILENCE' / by Maria Kristensen

At the international film festival CameraImage, which focuses on cinematography, Lars Skree won the Golden Frog for Best Cinematography in a feature length documentary for his outstanding work on The Look of Silence

Lars Skree is one of the best documentary cinematographers in Denmark and has previously won the World Cinematography Award at Sundance Film Festival (for Putin's Kiss) and was nominated for Cinema Eye Honours and an Emmy (for Armadillo).

Lars Skree can be described as yin and yang; a tough guy, yet a poet, combat soldier, yet a graceful line dancer. These combinations work perfectly together in his work on The Look of Silence, where his endlessly beautiful images have come to life in spite of the harshness of the subject matter and the shooting circumstances.

Lars Skree's work on The Look of Silence is also nominated for Cinema Eye Honours 2015 for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography
