We are proud to announce the World Premiere of The Silo and Us on March 12 in Stubbekøbing - the place where it all began!
After that the film will have its Copenhagen premiere on March 15, and there will also be loads of screenings, all over Denmark, since the film has been selected to be part of the DOX:DANMARK programme - where it has been selected by more than 26 cities, the most of all the films in the DOX:DANMARK programme.
The film follows a group of passionate creatives determined to transform an abandoned concrete silo on the harbor of Stubbekøbing into an artistic landmark. As the proposal sparks debate, the town must decide: Should the silo be torn down — or should this small town dare to dream big?
Silo and Us is a warm and subtle documentary about community, change, and the courage to see new possibilities in old structures — and about who gets to define the future of small towns.
Directed by Carina Randløv and produced by Maria Kristensen and Signe Byrge Sørensen, the film unfolds a debate about identity, the country, community, and who gets the right to redefine what the so-called periphery is and can become.
