We are very proud that The Nile Hilton Incident (known in Denmark as Cairo Confidential) won no less than 5 Guldbagger at the Swedish Academy Film Awards last night.

The Nile Hilton Incident, directed by Tarik Saleh, sets the fictional story of an Egyptian police detective and a murky homicide case against the political protests of the Egyptian Revolution of 2011. Its a neo-noir political thriller, produced by Kristina Åberg, co-produced by Final Cut for Real by Monica Hellström and Signe Byrge Sørensen.

The film won Best Film, Best Male Lead (Fares Fares as Noredin), Best Sounddesign (Frederik Jonsäter) and Best Production Design (Roger Rosenberg). The film also won Best Costume by our very own Danish Louize Nissen.

On top of that, Saleh’s amazing film was nominated for Best Director, Best Supporting Male Actor and Best Make-up.

See the full list of winners here (Swedish).
