Emma Wall and Betsy Hershey’s fantastic documentary Just Look Up will have its US premiere tonight at the Tribeca Film Festival where it is screening in the Spotlight Documentary section. The film is produced by Signe Byrge Sørensen & Natja Rosner for Final Cut for Real and Guesthouse Productions.
The film follows the Climate Defiance movement and its founder Michael Greenberg, in the struggle to force climate action by crashing the events, conferences, and public appearances of fossil fuel CEOs and complicit politicians. Armed with humor, urgency, and a willingness to cause a scene, these young activists take direct inspiration from historic civil disobedience movements, making confrontations too loud and too viral to ignore. At once a portrait of a generation's fury and a debate about the tactics needed to break through political inertia, the film asks whether disruption - not politeness - is what it takes to finally make the world listen.
Just Look Up won the F:ACT Award at CPH:DOX in March and we are very excited for the film to finally meet its native New York audience!
After the premiere screening actor Jeremy Strong will moderate a Q&A with Michael Greenberg, activist Cheyenne, David Wallace-Wells, and Margaret Klein Salamon .
