WORLD PREMIERE FOR 'THE SILO AND US' AT CPH:DOX 2026 / by Maria Kristensen

We are so happy to announce that Carina Randløv’s new documentary feature The Silo and Us will have its world premiere at CPH:DOX 2026, as part of the DANISH:DOX section - and also as a part of the DOX:DANMARK initiative, which brings documentary films to all of Denmark, not just Copenhagen.

For this film it is especially fitting, since THE SILO AND US is about what happens to our small rural towns when the busses stop running, the schools close down, shopping happens in large malls or online and no one really believes that anything that comes from here has any kind of value.

In the small town Stubbekøbing this discourse is challenged when a group of passionate creatives, including art world super star Danh Vo, set out to transform the old concrete silo on the harbor into an artistic landmark for the town. Now the community must decide: Should the silo be torn down — or should this small town dare to dream big?

The Silo and Us is supported by the Danish Film Institute and Realdania, and made in collaboration with TV 2 Denmark. The film is produced by Maria Kristensen & Signe Byrge Sørensen for Final Cut for Real.
